{"id":3217,"date":"2025-02-27T09:23:33","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T22:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.economicsandpeace.org\/?post_type=event&#038;p=3217"},"modified":"2025-02-27T09:24:35","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T22:24:35","slug":"road-to-the-summit-militarization-and-the-sdgs","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.economicsandpeace.org\/event\/road-to-the-summit-militarization-and-the-sdgs\/","title":{"rendered":"Road to the Summit &#8211; Militarization and the SDGs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed International Community, the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), and the Coalition for the UN We Need are pleased to invite you to a conversation dedicated to unpacking the relationship between military expenditure and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Action 13(c) of the Pact for the Future requests \u201cthe Secretary-General to provide analysis on the impact of the global increase in military expenditure on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by the end of the seventy-ninth session.\u201d&nbsp;Moreover, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs is encouraging \u201cstakeholders to organise events and discussions on this topic to contribute to the Secretary-General\u2019s analysis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is in furtherance of these objectives that we are hosting this dialogue featuring H.E.
