The Institute for Economics & Peace will deliver a virtual briefing to IOM-UN staff on Wednesday, 18 June from 9:00 to 10:15am EST, presenting the key findings of the Global Peace Index 2025, the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness. Covering 163 countries and territories, and accounting for 99.7% of the world\u2019s population, the GPI evaluates 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators across three domains: Societal Safety and Security, Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict, and the Degree of Militarization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond country rankings and key trends, this year’s Global Peace Index will explore conflict escalation dynamics, featuring case studies of evolving conflicts and emerging trends in contemporary warfare. It will also assess the likely impact of ongoing geopolitical and economic changes on development, particularly the most indebted and aid reliant countries. After the presentation, Q&A and discussion will offer the opportunity to explore this all through the lens of IOM\u2019s efforts focused on displacement, migration, and how we can continue to prepare and respond to future crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
